| n the hills of Garda Lake, at Toscolano Maderno ( Brescia),not far from the village of Cecina, you can find Cervano, two country houses in the middle of the fields, with a beautiful sightseeing on the whole lake and the golf course, just in the heart of the Alto Garda Bresciano Park. Cervano is a Bed & Breakfast or, if you prefer, a quality farmholidays villa with his feet in the past and his head in the future. The owners' home, bought in 1818 from the ancestors of the present owners, was completely restructured in 1889 and holds internally the spirit and the furniture of that time. The country part was completely restructured in 2004 and became a quality Bed & Breakfast ; the Farm, once inhabited by 4 families of country men, remains structured like a "Fort" with a narrow courtyard, covered by round river stones, where the carts once went in to empty the hay. The fresh water is supplied by the public aqueduct but also by a spring coming from a rock at a temperature of 14 C at ab 1.500 yards from the house. The same spring feeds also some small rivers attended by libellule and river shrimps. The landscape is rural, because actually remained unchanged since first years of '800 and the small paths that drives you in, are still in black rocks or beaten ground. The mediterranean climate and the happy position exposed to South affords the growth of almond trees, figs and pomegranates, beside numerous olive trees and vineyards that produce the famous extra virgin olive oil of lake Garda and the wine Gropello. Furthermore, in the recent restructuring, the same position allowed to use largely solar energy to produce heating and power. The woods are over on the back of the houses and, in the morning, it is not difficult to see kids of roe-bucks who come to drink in the brooks of the plan, while in the warm summer evenings, you can find, every now and then, small foxes playing in the grass by the houses. |
