The small town of 5.500 inhabitants is situated in the widest point of the Lake and it is almost completely surrounded by medieval walls and has a particular atmosphere. The historic old town centre can be reached via gates. During the Venetian Empire, Lazise was an important trading place. There is a wide selection of cafes, bars and restaurants. In the charmingly narrow lanes many shops as delicatessens, art galleries, shoe shops, jewellers and ice-cream parlours can be found.
