Tignale on the western side of the lake is a fusion of different small towns, which the largest one is Gardola. Many of the houses have been built between the 17 th -19th centuries and show fine stone made portals. The plateau of Tignale is ideal for extensive walks, during which again and again were offered outstanding views on the lake. Google Map
This village was settled since the old age and was an important centre during the Roman realm; it is embedded into the centre of a beautiful hilly area. Also worth a visit is Madonna di Montecastello, a pilgrimage church on top of a steep cliff, which can be achieved following a small footpath.
